Alise Howlett, Assoc. AIA, CFPE, CHFM

Alise Howlett has over twenty-eight years of experience working with the built environment as both a code compliance expert and intern architect. She has over sixteen years of focused experience consulting in design, compliance and construction management. Her experience with historic buildings and unique construction types provides valuable insight into communicating compliance issues and collaborating with multiple user groups.
Alise is certified by the National Fire Protection Agency as a Certified Fire Plans Examiner, a distinction that verifies knowledge of all aspects of NFPA 1, NFPA 101 and referenced life safety standards through exam and practicum. In addition, she is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager as administered by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and is an ASHE Construction Certificate holder. She utilizes her survey and instructional skills as a life safety standards advisor and education instructor for the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program, a nationally recognized agency with deeming authority from the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Her mock survey and consultant services are requested nation-wide. Alise is also a certified plans examiner under the International Code Council and performs plan review services for municipal building and community development departments.
Ms. Howlett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana and has served on local and state AIA boards, as well as serving on the Executive Board of the AIA National Associates Committee at their headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Ms. Howlett’s technical background includes past projects for Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois; Dean Foods in the northern Illinois region; the Cancer Center and Children’s Medical Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital, Rockford, Illinois; and multimillion-dollar project management and life safety compliance for SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, Illinois.
Ms. Howlett currently resides in Loves Park, Illinois.
